Our story
Our founder DR. Manzour Moidunny is a physician with a unique background that bridges medicine, nutrition, and systems-based thinking. Raised in Detroit and shaped by firsthand experience with health disparities, his journey began with a deep understanding that access to quality food is one of the most powerful determinants of long-term wellness and disease prevention.
Food As Medicine was created with a simple yet transformative mission: to deliver plant-based, high-fiber, high-protein, nutrient-dense meals to urban and rural communities that are often underserved. Every recipe is intentionally designed to be rich in fiber, low in sodium and refined carbohydrates, and built to support metabolic health, immune strength, and cellular longevity.
Rooted in science and driven by compassion, the brand focuses on prevention as much as treatment—using whole, functional foods to help people live longer, stronger, and healthier lives. At its core, Food As Medicine believes that what we eat daily can either accelerate disease or extend life, and that everyone deserves access to meals that heal, fuel, and sustain the body for the long run.
About
Sharnell Greer is the Chef, Manager and Partner of Food As Medicine, known for her signature approach to flavorful vegan comfort food that feeds both the body and the spirit. She believes that eating for health should never feel like a punishment, and her mission is to prove that plant-based meals can be just as rich, satisfying, and crave-worthy as they are nourishing.
With a heart for the community and a passion for education, Sharnell uses her culinary gifts to teach that wellness starts on the plate—and that healing foods can still be full of soul, culture, and bold flavor. Through every dish she creates, she inspires others to see healthy eating not as a restriction, but as a delicious lifestyle rooted in joy, balance, and longevity.
Food as Medicine is more than a food concept—it’s a commitment to nourishing people with intention. Everything we create is rooted in the belief that what we put into our bodies directly impacts how we live, think, and thrive. We are dedicated to preparing meals with purpose, integrity, and care—because health isn’t an option, it’s a responsibility.
Food As Medicine sources fresh, high-quality ingredients from trusted local growers and partners, because real healing starts with real food. Just because healthy eating is about balance and nutrition doesn’t mean it should be bland, overprocessed, or made with tired produce and lifeless seasonings. We believe vibrant meals require vibrant ingredients—crisp vegetables, fresh herbs, clean proteins, and bold, natural flavors. Our mission is to nourish communities with meals that are as delicious as they are functional, expanding palates while proving that food designed for health can be exciting, satisfying, and full of life—not limited, boring, or routine.
